Proposition 65
California Proposition 65 Warning
California's Proposition 65 (the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986) requires businesses selling products in California to provide warnings about significant exposures to chemicals on a state-maintained list of substances known to cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm.
Our approach
Formulation Factory provides a Proposition 65 warning on our products as a precautionary measure. Many natural ingredients, including botanicals and mineral-rich substances, may contain trace amounts of substances listed under Proposition 65 — even when sourced from reputable suppliers and within levels generally considered safe under federal guidelines.
What this means
The presence of a Proposition 65 warning does not mean a product is unsafe or violates any federal safety standards. It reflects California's specific labeling requirements, which differ from federal regulations.
For specific warning details for a particular product, please refer to that product's label or packaging.
